What is the Rhythmscape story?
The business model and concept for Rhythmscape was a state winner of Operation Livewire (a national business concept development competition sponsored by Shell Australia) in 1997 and since launching on the web in 2000, Rhythmscape has become a leading publishing brand selling in all major international markets. Rhythmscape has a composer team of more than 18 and a works list in excess of 70 titles (growing all the time). We pride ourselves on sponsoring many events each year and work with percussion teachers, performers and professionals to assist in the growth of our percussive industry. Rhythmscape also offers pro bono advisory work to support other arts industry organisations to assist in their growth and aid the health of our arts industry as a whole. .top.

What should I know when ordering from the Rhythmscape site?
Firstly, all prices listed on the Rhythmscape site are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and on depending on where you are in the world, this may mean you are buying in a foreign currency. The final purchase cost for international orders will be calculated using the exchange rate at the time of sale. Please refer to your local exchanges for daily rates.
We also give you a great deal of information on each of our works. Most of it will be self-explanatory (number of players, instrumentation, general difficulty rating); however you may be interested in the following:
A.M.E.B. | A.B.S. ratings - This refers to the approximate grading for the work in questions. This grading utilises the Australian Music Examination Board (AMEB Percussion Syllabus 2000-2006) & the American Band Standard (ABS). All grading are intended as a guide only. If you have any questions, simply contact one of our team and we will help you .top.
What happens if I have made the wrong selection in my order?

You can even contact us with your requirements and one of our team will help you. If required we will refer you to another publisher or retail store if this means you find what it is you need. We are here to help in whatever way we can.
If you make a purchase from our catalogue and are not completely satisfied we will gladly exchange the product or offer a refund once the work in question is returned in good order and your account has been identified. .top.

What happens when Licensing Rhythmscape Titles for use?
Rhythmscape, in conjunction with the PPCA (Phonographic Performance Company of Australia), works with potential licensees to create new and profitable licensing arrangements with music producers and manufactures. Please view our Direct Licensing Agreement (.PDF 24KB) and email us if you require further information or assistance. .top.
Does Rhythmscape accept submissions for new percussion works?
Yes. Rhythmscape has been responsible for finding and publishing some of the best new works for percussion and we continue that search today.
All selected works submitted to Rhythmscape are sent to our dedicated selection panel made up of leading professional performers and educators for anonymous, independent appraisal. Rhythmscape utilises the opinion of market professionals to select its works. Should a work be then selected, Rhythmscape invests considerable editing and design time, money and energy to prepare the title for inclusion in our catalogue.
Please be aware that Rhythmscape is not a library or reference collection. Rhythmscape is a commercial business that works to create a consistent royalty stream for our composers. To that end, not all submissions are accepted and the works that do make it into the catalogue meet the very highest standards for composition and presentation. .top.
Who writes for Rhythmscape?
The Rhythmscape Composer Team consists of the very best percussion composers, performers and educators working in the industry today. Our percussion works are written and edited by and composed for percussionists. We are all about percussion (if you haven't already guessed!) .top.
Rhythmscape is a proud Publisher Member of the Australian Performing Arts Association (APRA)
Why do you focus only on percussion works?
It is what we are good at. It is our passion. We consistently hear from our customers that there is a great need for new and exciting percussion works. Percussion has come along way in recent times. Playing techniques, the instruments themselves and of course players and audiences have all developed greatly and our extensive catalogue reflects this exciting development. .top.
